Dr. Van Bailey has done extensive work in the field of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and TLGBQ (Trans, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Queer) advocacy/support. Dr. Bailey is a member of bklyn boihood, and in 2016 published a chapter, “To the College Bois,” in Outside the XY: Black and Brown Masculinity (New York: Riverdale), which was a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award. He was also listed in the Trans 100 and Business Equality Magazine’s 40 under 40. Dr. Bailey has worked at campuses across the country and internationally to advance equity and inclusion.

The National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC) is a civil rights organization dedicated to the empowerment of Black lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and same gender loving (LGBTQ/SGL) people, including people living with HIV/AIDS.
