Equity Week Engagements Included:
OUT on the Hill Advocacy Day: Nearly 100 advocates participated in a congressional briefing that featured insights from leaders and experts. They also met with congressional committee leaders and staff of committees where our priority legislation has stalled. Attendees discussed the need for urgent action on reparations, education, police accountability, voting rights, economic inequality, prevention of and restorative justice for hate crimes, ending the epidemic of violence facing Black women, and protecting the freedom to learn.

This unforgettable night blends the thrill of competition with civic engagement through voter registration, advocacy calls to action, and community building—all while creating a space of affirmation, joy, and resistance.
The National Equity Week of Action will culminate on Saturday, June 14th, from 12 pm to 1 pm. Attendees will stand in the footsteps of history as we honor the legacy of Bayard Rustin—the brilliant organizer behind the 1963 March on Washington—with a powerful gathering and ceremonial walk around the Reflecting Pool. This morning of reflection, community, and recommitment features inspiring speeches from movement leaders, intergenerational dialogue about progress and challenges, interactive teach-ins on organizing strategies, and collective visioning for the work ahead.
