George Washington University collaborated with the National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC) through its Capstone program to produce a set of resources to support Black LBGTQ+/SGL and Black female-identifying elected and prospective officials. Deliverables for this project included: (1) an in-depth landscape analysis of programs and resources for elected and prospective officials at multiple levels of government and (2) a first-of-its-kind directory of programs and resources via an interactive map to be utilized by NBJC’s Good Trouble Network (GTN). GW’s capstone team identified existing programs and resources for Black, LGBTQ+/SGL, and female-identifying elected and prospective officials, while also identifying gaps in the resources currently utilized by NBJC.
The identified resources are displayed on an interactive GIS (geographic information system) map broken down by region, seen here.
