Rev. Valerie Spencer, MSW_

Valerie Spencer has worked in the arena of Social Services, focusing on health disparities as it relates to Transgender persons and others within LGBT communities for over  two  decades  (that’s  20  years  folks).  The directive she gives herself is simple, to make the complex comprehensive. 

She is the founder/Director of Vision for Holistic Empowerment Institute, an organization that blends Evidence-based practices with the Sacred. Holistic Empowerment Institute combines Whole-person, Cultural Affirmation, and Intentional Spiritual Integration as primary tools to empower LGBTQI communities. She is also a Behavioral Health Therapist based in Los Angeles and serves as a national consultant and speaker with Merck Pharmaceuticals. Valerie holds a master’s degree in Social Work from California State University Long Beach and is preparing to pursue doctoral studies in Holistic Psychology at California Institute of Integral Studies. In 2019 Valerie completed seminary studies at One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, and is now an ordained Interfaith minister – becoming the Rev. Valerie Spencer.
