Our government represents those who vote. Let’s work together to get all of America’s voices heard during every election – no exception.
Elections are only one part of the political process. Get Out the Vote (GOTV) efforts, including capacity investments, need to happen 365 days of every year. Four years of a toxic presidential administration, senate, and federal court, leading into a pandemic that will affect us for some time to come, has been tempered by the election of a new team and the hope of a more benevolent Congress. But, this is barely a bandaid where we have to cauterize a wound. Year-round GOTV efforts should encourage and support voters in learning about and engaging with elected officials, shaping and advancing legislation, and supporting policy implementation at every level. The goal is to ensure that criticism of current candidates, parties, and issues can be channeled into sustained and meaningful engagement after the November elections.
