Pride and Promise: A WBAI Special

On a special June 27, 2021 episode of City Watch on WBAI New York 99.5 FM, Host Jeff Simmons focused on the ongoing efforts to achieve equality for LGBTQIA+ communities in the country, with guests: Crystal Hudson, candidate for council in the 35th District; Cathy Marino Thomas, co-chair of Equality New York; Alphonso David, President, Human Rights Campaign; Daniel O’Donnell, New York State Assemblymember; David Johns, Executive Director, National Black Justice Coalition; Dr. Rachel Levine, U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health, and Jay Walker, advocate, Reclaim Pride Coalition.

The National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC) is a civil rights organization dedicated to the empowerment of Black lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and same gender loving (LGBTQ/SGL) people, including people living with HIV/AIDS.
