NBJC Development and Operations Manager Search

The National Black Justice Coalition is seeking dynamic candidates for its Development and Operations Manager position.

The National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC) is a civil rights organization dedicated to empowering Black lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. NBJC’s mission is to end racism and homophobia. As America’s leading national Black LGBT civil rights organization focused on federal public policy, NBJC has accepted the charge to lead Black families in strengthening the bonds and bridging the gaps between the movements for racial justice and LGBT equality.

Since 2003, NBJC has provided leadership at the intersection of national civil rights groups and LGBT organizations, advocating for the unique challenges and needs of the African American LGBT community that are often relegated to the sidelines. NBJC envisions a world where all people are fully-empowered to participate safely, openly and honestly in family, faith and community, regardless of race, class, gender identity or sexual orientation.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Development and Operations Manager supports NBJC’s strategic objective to focus the energy and resources of the Black lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender social justice movement by providing highly skilled fund development and operations leadership, project management and event planning. This position oversees and supports the fundraising, event management and operations functions to ensure both the short-term and long-term financial health of NBJC.

Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Development and Operations Manager will be responsible for the internal operational success of the National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC), ensuring seamless team management, revenue development, program delivery and quality control. In this newly established role, the Development and Operations Manager will be a key external face of NBJC.

As a cross-operations manager and essential member of the executive leadership team, the Development and Operations Manager (DOM) will develop and maintain the internal platform of services, systems and policies necessary for the National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC) to accomplish its strategic objectives and serve its beneficiaries effectively.
