Action Alert!

The National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC), the nation's leading civil rights organization dedicated to the empowerment of Black lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people, launched the "We Will Not Be TRUMPED!" campaign earlier this year to bring awareness to the alarming concerns regarding several of President-elect Trump's nominees that must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate before they can serve in the next administration. Our goal is to inform and move to action our community in regards to these nominations. We must make our voices heard in Washington on these nominees being considered for important cabinet-level positions that could have a devastating impact on our nation's laws and public policies.

Under the "We Will Not Be TRUMPED!" campaign, NBJC has publicly opposed  four nominees: Betsy DeVos (Secretary of Education Nominee), and U.S. Representative Tom Price (Secretary of Health & Human Services Nominee), U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions (Attorney General), Dr. Ben Carson (Secretary of Housing & Urban Development). Please see the full list of nominees and NBJC's statement of opposition below.
